The building on the photo resembling the Medieval castle from Europe has been finished in 2003 in the centre of Dalian, near Xinghai Square. It was designed to be a modern hotel, the part of which soon was taken for exhibition of Dalian Shell Museum.
The long line of steps awaited for visitors, who wanted to see the collection of over 5 000 shells from waters of 30 countries on four oceans.
Among the displayed items were the large Tridacna with weight over hundred of kilos and the smallest Shabei, which is only a millimeter long.
A visit to the museum became the part of standard sightseeing tour of Dalian, but at present the museum collection is transferred again to the new modern building.
